What is Coronavirus (COVID-19)?

Also known as Coronavirus Disease 2019, COVID-19 is an infectious disease caused by a newly identified coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2). This novel coronavirus is not the same as the coronaviruses that commonly circulate among humans and cause mild illness, such as the common cold. While some patients with COVID-19 may be asymptomatic, others may experience symptoms ranging from mild to severe respiratory illness, with the potential of developing serious or critical complications. What Are The Symptoms?

According to the CDC, reported illnesses have ranged from mild symptoms to severe illness and death for confirmed coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) cases. The following symptoms may appear 2-14 days after exposure.

How Does It Spread?

According to the CDC, The virus is thought to spread mainly from person-to-person. Avoid close contact with anyone showing symptoms of respiratory illness such as coughing and sneezing.

Between people who are in close contact with one another (within about 6 feet). It is advise to stay 6 feet apart from one another.

Respiratory Droplets

Through respiratory droplets produced when an infected person coughs or sneezes. These droplets can land in the mouths or noses of people who are nearby or possibly be inhaled into the lungs.

Surfaces or Objects

By touching surfaces or objects that has been contaminated by a person with coronavirus and then touching your own mouth, nose, or eyes may spread the virus.
